About Ramadham
Ramadham – Nurture your inner child!
Ramadham was created with a hope of ensuring a life full of happiness, peace, and love to senior citizens after all the hardships and hard work. Shri Balasaheb Thackeray and Shri Meena Tai Thackeray planted the seed of this dream project which is now being reintroduced again.
Back in the 1980s, when Balasaheb and Meena Tai were watching a black and white film based on the life of Gadge Maharaj, they were excited to learn that Gadge Maharaj had developed residential centers where people took shelter and spent the rest of their lives. During the film, it occurred to Meena Tai that even they could start a similar initiative. Balasaheb Ji immediately agreed to the idea decided to start this initiative soon after. Later, in the year 1990, the foundations of Ramadham Old Age Home were laid near Khopoli, in Maharashtra. Many people, since then, have lived a peaceful and happy life here.
Today, after 25 years, Balasaheb and Meena Tai’s initiative of Ramadham Old Age Home has been reinitiated by Shri Uddhav Thackeray. With his father’s vision and his creative, enthusiastic approach, Uddhav Ji has created this multifaceted old age home.
